The Difference Between Lo Mein and Chow Mein?

In The Easiest Lo Mein Noodles SoupedUpRecipes states the difference between Lo Mein and Chow Mein is the latter still has the heat on when the noodles are added to the wok. Chow means fried.

Noodles in 15 minutes (or more)

 FitGreenMind has a video You can have this in 15min using udon noodles.




Ingredients (I think):

Vegetables (e.g. cabbage, carrot, capsicum, garlic)

Spring onion (for garnish)

Udon noodles (stir fry type)

Sauce:

Tablespoon soy sauce

Tablespoon hoi sin sauce

Teapoon sugar

Teaspoon of vinegar

A pinch of salt

A pinch of MSG


Method

Saute the vegetables

Add cubed tofu (or other protein)

Add the cooked noodles

Add the sauce

Stir and serve

Tiffy Cooks Soy Sauce Pan-fried Noodles

 Tiffy Cook's 15 minute Soy Sauce Pan-fried Noodles.


Ingredients

450g of Noodles (cooked)
3 tbsp of Soy Sauce
2.5 tbsp of Dark Soy Sauce
2 tbsp of Sugar
2 tbsp of Sesame Oil
4 tbsp of Water or Vegetable Stock
6 cloves of Garlic (sliced)
3 stalks of Green Onion (cut into 2-inch pieces)
1-3 Red Chili (chopped)
1.5 cups of Bean Sprouts

Hint: reduce the sugar to 1 teaspoon

Recipe for Soy Sauce Pan Fried Noodles

 TiffyCooks has a recipe for Soy Sauce Pan-fried Noodles (15 Minutes!). This is a vegetarian version, but meat can be added.

 

Ingredients

450g noodles: Chow Mein, Frozen Udon or Shanghai noodles

3 tbsp of soy sauce

2.5 tbsp of dark soy sauce

2 tbsp of sugar (this was a bit too much, try using 1)

4 tbsp of water or vegetable stock

6 cloves of garlic (sliced)

3 stalks of spring onion

1-3 red chili

1.5 cups of bean sprouts

Garlic Chili Noodles

100g extra firm tofu
4-5 pieces garlic
small piece ginger
3 sticks green onion
3 tbsp avocado oil
3 tsp dark soy sauce
150g knife pare noodles
1 tbsp gochugaru
1 tbsp plantbased oyster sauce
