This American Life had an interesting two part audio series on the General Motors Fremont plant in California. This was General Motor's worst plant. Then as part of a joint venture with Toyota the work force was sent to Japan to learn how to make Toyota cars. The plant turned around so much that in the end the cars they were making exceeded the quality of Japanese cars.
Wokgod's What’s special about Special Fried Rice?
Ingredients
80G BBQ Pork
50G Roast Chicken
12 Shrimps
2x Eggs
300G Fresh hot rice (please don’t use day old rice)
Salt to taste
1 tsp YumYum (MSG)
1 tsp white pepper
1 tsp soy sauce
1/2 cup frozen veggies
2x Green Onions
Not sure what's put on top at the end, some type of chili or XO sauce?
Instructions
1. Cut BBQ Pork, shrimp and Chicken into small 1cm pieces and stir fry with 1 tbs of Oil.
2. Push meats aside crack 2 eggs into the wok.
3. Add fresh rice and fry till fragrant. Why? Because cold rice cools down the wok and you lose wok hei. Trust me. Your grandma is wrong, day old rice ain’t it.
4. Add white part of spring onion and fry for another 30secs
5. Add the frozen veggies (optional. I hate peas)
6. Add all the seasoning and serve with green onions on top.

Australia's simplest Portfolio (VAS + VGS) - What they're not telling you
Invest in Super first, then make sure you also have a diversified portfolio with defensive investments. VGS does not cover emerging markets either. A200 and IOZ both have lower fees than VAS. So, keep the majority of the portfolio in Super, the portion outside Super should be diversified across stocks, the stock component should include access to the fast growing emerging markets and VAS should probably be replaced by A200 because of the lower management fees.
